Reimagining the Civic Commons is a national initiative that seeks to counter economic and social fragmentation in our cities by revitalizing and connecting public places such as parks, plazas, trails and libraries to bring together people from different backgrounds. Explore the power of public places in advancing the goals of socioeconomic mixing, civic engagement, environmental sustainability and value creation through a discussion with urban planner and public policy expert Lynn M. Ross, AICP, founder of Spirit for Change Consulting, LLC and a consultant with the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation on of the funders of the initiative.

Learning Outcomes
1) Participants will gain an understanding of the mission and the four desired outcomes for Reimagining the Civic Commons.

2) Participants will gain new insights and practical takeaways from case studies of the five RCC communities: Akron, Chicago, Detroit, Memphis and Philadelphia.

3) Participants will understand how impact is being measured in RCC communities and how to consider those metrics in their own work.
