Description
This is a 6.5 hour live lecture presentation with the instructors and students together in the same room. It will be conducted in a handicap-accessible conference room with ample seating space and writing surface for all attendees. Bound written materials, authored by the faculty, will be distributed to all participants at the program. Attendance will be monitored and reported to LA CES.

This course covers federal and state erosion and sediment regulations, goals for and selection of erosion and sediment control practices, sediment traps and basins, and the inspection, monitoring, maintenance and record keeping of control measures.

Learning Outcomes
Learners will be able to comply with federal Environmental Protection Agency and state erosion, sediment control, and stormwater management requirements.

Learners will be able to utilize practices that minimize project site disturbances that cause erosion and preserve native vegetation.

Learners will be able to control site disturbances with the use of non-structural best practices, including temporary and permanent seeding, sodding, mulching, use of geotextiles, chemical soil stabilization, and buffer zones.

Learners will be able to control erosion and control sedimentation on construction sites with structural best practices, including earthern dikes, pipe drains, silt fences, check dams, drainage swales, subsurface drains, and berms.
