Description
Vegetated roofs were created for aesthetic reasons, but have evolved to include significant environmental advantages for building owners. This course will discuss how vegetated roofs can be used to mitigate the damaging environmental effects of stormwater runoff and urban heat islands. The history, purpose, benefits, components, installation, maintenance, and code considerations of vegetated roofing systems will also be discussed.
