These three speakers will discuss invasive plants that have biological control agents and ongoing research for new agents, the process of turning a strip-mine brownfield into a botanical garden, and a new certification program for landscape professionals practicing sustainability.

Learning Outcomes
Students will learn about biological control for invasive plants, some biological controls currently in use and what research is underway for future introductions. Students will understand the challenges of planting in a strip-mined site and what plants have been successful in these conditions. Students will learn about the Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional Certification designed to build a network of professionals to design, install, and maintain sustainable landscapes throughout the Chesapeake Bay region.
