Description
This three hour interactive online course will provide the user with a background of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) and Flood Insurance Studies (FIS). It provides the land surveyor, engineer or other user with a comprehensive overview of topics including:

•Flood studies and map terminology
•How flood studies are prepared along riverine and coastal floodplains
•Basic floodplain hydrology and hydraulics
•Types of FEMA flood maps
•FIRM zones, reference marks, map features, etc.
