As a tool for stormwater management, this presentation demonstrates Permeable Design Pro software which calculates the structural and hydrological requirements for open-graded aggregate subbases in permeable interlocking concrete pavement (PICP). The presenter explains many of the comprehensive set of input variables (rainfall events, run-on, soils, traffic loads, pavement materials, etc.) and shows their impact on outputs (infiltration, outflow rates/volumes hydrographs, subbase thickness, etc.) as a result of running the software. A few design examples are demonstrated that illustrate relationships among inputs, outputs and the selected design. The presentation also illustrates the pavement section options illustrated as CAD drawings that can be generated once design outputs are calculated and selected.
