The lecture will explore various uses of art in healthcare facilities to relieve stress and improve cognition as a complement to healing garden design. Topics included are building design, color psychology, graphic art, and art therapy as a means to foster the well-being of residents, patients, and staff in a variety of healthcare environments. The discussion will be based in large part on recommendations and practices grounded in the findings of evidence-based design.
