Description
Administering the City's Article 80 zoning process is one of the primary responsibilities of the BRA, and can have a significant impact in the discussion of design in the city. The Article 80 process also triggers a number of other City departmental processes, which too, can have a further impact on design. This session will provide an overview of a project's design journey through Article 80, and discuss the coordination required between City agencies and the BRA through the process to achieve a design that can be permitted. The presentation will reference Disabilities Commission review, the Public Improvement Commission process, Parks Commission process, Boston Transportation Department's TAPA process, and Boston Landmarks Commission process; how they fit together; and the role that each one plays on the way to achieving a permitted design project.
