Description
This 4-hour online interactive course discusses the basics of designing a detention pond for a parking lot or other similar hard-surface area. Engineers and architects are often required to include the design of a parking lot when designing a building. This basic course is intended for engineers and architects who do not have extensive training in hydrology and hydraulics. The course uses the Rational Method to develop an inflow hydrograph for routing through a detention pond.

The course will include information on data necessary to determine rainfall intensities, selection of appropriate design parameters and sizing of detention ponds. Topics include:
