Description
This session will take you through a brief history of electric light from Edison's light bulb to today's LED’s and beyond. We will explore key features and benefits of traditional light sources and how the LED meets those features and benefits while offering the value added benefits of improved efficiency, longer life and lighting quality.

Given LED's unique properties traditional matrices’ need to be re-examined when applying LED within lighting applications. Awareness and understanding matrix’s associated with color rendering, lamp life and optical principles are especially critical factors when designing with LED sources. How these matrices have changed or in some cases need to change will be explored.

At the conclusion of this session as yourself these questions.
- Is LED the New Incandescent?
- Are LED’s the DeLorian of the lighting world?
- Will Marty and the Doc have a ""brighter"" future?
