Closing out a project can be as difficult, if not more so, than starting a new project. Just like a project which must be carefully and thoroughly planned out, so must the project closeout. The purpose of this course is to guide you through the processes and all considerations that should be accomplished in athat should be considered during project closeout. You will learn:

The different types of analyses and closeouts that need to be completed
How to acquire and preserve a knowledge management program And
How to converse with project stakeholders involved in the project closeout.

By the end of this course you should be able to:
Identify and explain the importance of having a plan for a project closeout and what tools can be used to assist you in successfully closing out a project.
Explain how closing out a project is a project itself by summarizing what a project manager should be aware of during project closeout and identifying items that can be on your project closeout checklist.
Distinguish between the different types of analyses to be completed during a project closeout.
Select the correct steps that should be taken during each type of project closeout: File Closeout, Plans Closeout, Computer and Records Closeout, and CAD Closeout.
Define Knowledge Management and list the ways you can protect your institutional knowledge from the two pitfalls of a knowledge management program.
Describe how the final project actions (i.e., Final Project Description Sheet, Client Referral, and Team Recognition) should be carried out.
