Description
Maryland has been a leader in the development of decentralized stormwater management systems for several years. What is known elsewhere outside of the State as low impact development, and within the State as Environmental Site Design (ESD), provides a variety of benefits to both the natural environment and the human aesthetic. As befits any new and innovative work practice, as these ESD features have been developed and instituted there have been issues of relating to the startup and implementation of these new practices. This presentation will look at the experience of a Federal agency and a LEED-Platinum nature center as case studies of several lessons learned.
