Deep Dive into the Coney Island Creek Feasibility Study — Exploring Access, Resiliency, and Ecology

Start Date
05/07/2015
End Date

Description
This interactive breakout session will feature the City’s ongoing Tidal Barrier and Wetlands Feasibility Study. A key recommendation of the Special Initiative for Rebuilding and Resiliency report, the study is investigating hydrological management strategies to prevent and mitigate upland flooding, improve open space, strengthen neighborhood connections, enhance infrastructure, and provide opportunity for economic development. After an overview of the project and MWA’s Waterfront Edge Design Guidelines (WEDG), participants will divide into groups categorized by WEDG’s principles of access, resiliency, or ecology and discuss opportunities as to how these might inform the project team’s work going forward.
